Torchlight Music's composer Len Boone on BBC Radio

Tony Orchudesch

Love Won’t Be Denied

"Love Won't Be Denied" was never a big hit in the UK, but it was in Peterborough. Since its release in 1978, Len Boone's record has filled dance floors in the cathedral city. It inspired its own dance, the Peterborough Shuffle (also known as the Bull & Dolphin Shuffle). To this day, Love Wont Be Denied is played at parties, discos and whenever and wherever a good time is being had in Peterborough. Strangely, 10 miles outside of Peterborough, the record is practically unknown. Gerald Main tracked down Len Boone to his studio in Philadelphia and for the first time the back story to "THAT" song was told.
